If you’re planning to spend a day at Dollywood’s Splash Country this summer, you’ll want to be prepared for your day at the park! There are lots of thrilling water slides to experience, as well as a fun wave pool, relaxing lazy river and more! By making a loose itinerary for your day and following our insider tips, you can enjoy the best day possible! Here are the top 5 ways to make the most of your day at Dollywood’s Splash Country:

1. Arrive Early to the Front Gates

One of the most important tips for a great day at Dollywood’s Splash Country is to get to the front gates at least 30 minutes early! This means that you can be one of the first guests through the turnstiles in the morning and head right to the most popular slides, including the Big Bear Plunge, Raging River Rapids and the Slick Rock Racer! Save the wave pool, lazy river and other swimming areas until later in the day when the park starts to get more crowded. Note that the park opens at 10 AM daily, but closing times vary between 6 PM and 7 PM.

2. Purchase the Timesaver H20

Another way to make the most of your day at the waterpark is to purchase the Timesaver H20, a line management pass that allows you expedited access to select attractions! While this pass costs an extra fee above the park admission, you’ll find that it is well worth the money when you see how much time you save from waiting in line! There are two different versions of the Timesaver (one which includes 8 expedited entrances and another that includes unlimited access), both which are available on a first come, first serve basis at the park.

3. Request a Raincheck if Park Operations are Interrupted

While we hope that you have a beautiful day filled with sunshine during your day at Splash Country, sometimes Mother Nature has other plans! If you do happen to experience some inclement weather that shortens your day, you can request a rain check at any ticket window. These tickets are valid until the end of the operating season, but keep in mind that they are not available for Season Passholders.

4. Bring Plenty of Sunscreen

During all of the excitement of getting to Dollywood’s Splash Country, you won’t want to forget your sunscreen! Since you’ll be out in the sun, make sure that you and your family members are protected all day long! When purchasing sunscreen, look for a broad spectrum that protects against both UV-A and UV-B rays and a sunscreen that has SPF 30 or higher. Also, check the expiration date to make sure that it has not expired!
